Default pistons and rod search? destroke

I'm looking for a piston and rod setup for a 3.185 stroke ls2. I was wondering if this is even possible. I'm just curious. I know a ls1 with that stroke is more possible but I can't seem to find anything for the ls2. Where would I look for these parts?

a stock length rod with a 1.555 CH piston will put you at .0055 out of the hole. should be about perfect. or if your going with an aftermarket rod, a 1.53 CH piston will net you .0075 out of the hole. that is pretty good as well.

either way, your going to have a custom piston.

You may be better off with a custom rod instead. You could find a cheaper shelf piston with a smaller compression height and less weight. If it's going to spend a lot of time at higher RPM, the weight would be a pretty big deal.

Then just order a custom set of rods from Callies/Oliver/etc to whatever rod length fits, and even smaller big ends (Honda or Aurora journal sizes).

The pin on those cranks is 1.850" or 1.888" IIRC. Roush Yates Performance Parts might have some used 6.250" or longer Pankl, Lentz, or Carrillo rods ($2500-$3500 new, $400-$500 used) that would work for that, and they'll last forever. Being from a Ford they would be straight up like the LS rods, an issue might be the width on the big end, they typically narrow them up a good bit less than the ~.944" that is typical LS2, but that's OK as long as you control side to side on the small end. The small end would be narrow, but a box style piston designed properly can be made to fit and work well.

It's really about how much work you are willing to do this, or how much you are willing to pay someone else to do it, it's just not one of those slap together deals like a lot of combos.

The pin is a 1.850". Where would I find a rod and piston setup used? I'd rather not cough up $2500 for rods. Its going to be a road racer and a daily driver but I haven't accepted the cost yet.

Would something like these work? Could someone explain the other numbers on here for me. I understand most of it but a few confuse me.
