Default arp head bolt torque specs

anyone know what they are on an afr head? (idk if that matters or not)

It doesn't matter. You can see what ARP recommends on their website, but mostly anyone with ARP head bolts used on aluminum heads torque them between 65 to 70ft. lbs.

couldnt find them on arps website. (mostly cause my phone sux) i found them on afrs website. it was 65-70 ft lbs. thnx

My instructions said 3 steps to 70ft lbs.

dont mean to jack the thread but are the head gaskets side specific? i know that they can be upside down but does matter what side?

Ussually its embossed side up.

no doesn't matter, heads can be reversed as well, just gotta switch the steam pipe plugs on the heads.

Thats what I thought but wasnt sure if it applied for all gaskets.

i dunno my mr gasket MLS units have no up/down side, you can throw em on however you want. I wouldn't go more than about 70 ft lbs with 30wt on a stock block. an aftermarket block you can go up higher, **** some fast nitrous lsx guys were doing over 100 ft lbs on aftermarket 4 bolt blocks to keep the heads on em.

Go with a 3-step torque sequence. 25#, then 45#, then 70#.

i didnt buy the bolts. they came on the motor i bought.
