Default heads questions with pics

I have stock home ported head and I just got them back from the shop, I noticed how rough the combustion chamber is. Do I need to smoothen that out?

I wouldn't touch them. Imo, i think they look pretty good. Also You wouldn't want to get the cc's out of balance by grinding more out of 1 chamber than the other. If u don't mind me asking, how much did they charge you and what all did they do?

i wouldnt mess with smoothing it down, just looks like they sandblasted the castings, thats normal.

sharp edges in the combustion chamber isnt good, it promotes detonation. you could lightly knock down the sharp edges with some sandpaper.

what do the ports look like?

Those chambers look HUGE.. Is that a LT1 head? And if so, who did them?

Make sure if you do any sanding or grinding on that chamber to smooth things out that you throw some junk valves in there while you do it.
