Default Using the 2005 LQ9 harness in my swap, how do I handle the throttle body?

I have a full 2005 LQ9 and LQ9 harness. My questions are:

1- How do I handle the DriveByWire throttle body issue?

2- Can I use an LS1 MAF?

3- Can I use LS1 o2 sensors?

4- Is there anything else different between the harnesses?

1- How do I handle the DriveByWire throttle body issue? it's not an issue as long as you got the pedal, tac module, and tac harness. this is critical because 2006 had a different pedal that will not work. there is a pink wire that comes from the tac that will need keyed 12v+ and that's it. there will be 4 wires that you can use for cruise functions also

2- Can I use an LS1 MAF?what year ls1? but i believe if you use most ls1 mafs you must add a iat becase the 5 wire truck mafs have the iat via the maf sensor

3- Can I use LS1 o2 sensors? no the sensors are different, you should run the 05 sensors if you're using the 05 pcm

4- Is there anything else different between the harnesses? between the ls1 and 05 truck harness? if so yes there are a few (injectors, maf, o2 sensors, overall length, etc.)

you may be able to program the 05 pcm to cable or you could run an earlier computer and run a cable setup.

The 05 PCM will not have the drivers for Drive By Cable. There is one number for a Green/Blue PCM (Help please!) it was used on the 04 GTOs and some trucks. The remainder of the Green/Blues will not work. Regarding other questions... TryingGenIII is correct, O2s will not work unless they are the Gray/White connectors because they return ground to the PCM, MAF will work however, you will have to add IAT, Harness differences are correct as well. If you didnt get the TAC Module and Pedal you are better off converting to Drive By Cable as the cost of getting those parts becomes prohibitive.

Putting a carb on it kind of defeats the purpose of the swap.
Which trans are you running?

Stay with the DBW setup - it's one of the coolest features of this engine family! All you need is a pedal, a TAC module, and the cord that connects the pedal and TAC module. The TAC module and pedal can be bought off eBay at competitive prices or found even cheaper at the salvage yards. The harness that connects them can be bought at EFI Connection.

Still much more cost effective to go with DBC if you dont have the Pedal or TAC Module.

And I don't think he has a PCM or tuning software yet either.

Default drive by wire pedals

So can the dbw pedals and tac from a 06 5.3 work with a 2002 6.0 dbw harness?

God forbid you actually have to do some research before reverting to dinosaur technology

Back to the OP, 05 is still GEN III. Use any common DBW, harness, PCM also compatible with GEN III. Any sort of GEN III DBW truck stuff will interchange and is super common. If switching to DBC, use a tried and true 99-02 Fbody harness/PCM/TB. Bookmark lt1swap.com. It is one of the best sources of info for modern wiring. He goes into great detail about the different O2s and why they cant interchange. Also check out chevythunder and thirdgen.org

So to go to a cable setup could we not just grab the pedal and throttle body from a silverado or something from a junkyard and then have those parts of our harness reworked when sent out for reprogramming?

PCM mostly likely will change, pinouts definitely will. A simple reprogram isnt enough

So just for the sake of clarity, when going to dbc would the TAC still be necessary? Or would something like this be sufficient?
