Eaton make a great 10-bolt positraction unit, arguably the best. I ran one forever until I upgraded to a 9". If you upgrade, it would be a terrific time to upgrade to a new gearset since the old one has to come out.

I broke the spider gears and sheared off the tabs on the clutch packs on my eaton. I'm running an auburn racers diff now. Whatever diff you go with don't expect it to last if its in a 10 bolt.

I would let whoever is rebuilding your rear decide which Eaton posi is right for you. Building a 10-bolt requires alot of parts, something that your drivetrain specialist will know.

Again, parts that your builder will order. You're going to need pinion bearings, crush sleeve, pinion nut, shims, carrier bearings, axle seals, etc. I am sure there are kits out there but it's best to let your builder take care of it, especially in your situation.

There's no such thing as a "Truetrac Locker." "Truetrac" is a limited slip differential (same as a posi).

If you're just changing diff's all you need are carrier bearings/races and shims. The other bearings/seals are optional. And I would only use timkens in the rear end.

I would go with the posi if you are dd the car. I heard that a locker isnt that great for a dd. I could be wrong tho so maybe someone else could back this up.

Unless they magically increase the size of the ring and pinion its a waste of $$.

lockers will engage and disengage when you turn corners.. if its a cog type locker it is annoying and can push you through a turn, can also kick the rearend dangerously to the side in a turn.. they are hard to get use to, and can be dangerous as they are actually made to go in a straight line... never liked lockers myself..
they are annoying also, when they engage and disengage they make a somewhat loud pop..

a small upgrade from stock would be a stock ls1 limited slip unit..

i'm like a few others, i wouldnt spend the money on a 7.5 rearend.. maybe swap in better gears, use a solid crush sleeve, and possibly an aluminum cover, thats about as far as i would go with one..
because when it breaks, you could atleast sell the cover, and maybe the gears if they survive..

i've always used the ratech installation kits for 9inch and 8.8 fords never had any problem with them.. they usually come with all the seals and bearings, last i bought one they were around $100, i would get an extra shim kit just in case you need more shims or that certain shim you dont have.
