Just bought a 6.2 L92 shortblock and need some advise on a easy transition. My truck is a regular cab c1500 w/a 5.3, Heres what i to know about???
Fuel injectors, can i use mine from my 5.3??
Reluctor wheel is a 58tooth and my truck is a 24tooth??? what to do???
Knock sensors in valley cover??? Leave them unplugged and tie up harness??
Plan on using a std timing chain and cover(deleting the VVT) any issues??? Should i use my cahedral 5.3heads and intake or will it kill the Power it makes And if i need to use the L92heads and intake i am assuming i can use my throttle body on a L92 intake or L76 intake since my truck is cable driven??? Im not trying to build a drag truck, the idea is my truck is payed for and i would like the torque and HP of the L92, it will make things easier when i am hauling my car to the drag strip.... And i have a 24tooth LS1 crank sitting in the corner, could i use it in the block if i need to change or is their an easier way??? OK GUYS I NEED HELP!!!!!

LPE sells an electric box that will solve the reluctor wheel and cam sensor issue.

the L92 heads are the reason that motor is so impressive, dont change them. the l92 throttle body is larger as well, hopefully you can adapt it. I run a carb, so I cant help with the efi stuff

Maybe I can buy a Aftermaket cable drive throttle body and put it on a L92 intake

you would get a better response on the truck side of the forum !

Your going to need a 90mm or larger 4bolt cable TB, you can either change the relutor wheel or buy the module from lpe. I think if you use your stock injectors then your going to need spacers for them. Go on leignfilter website you can find all the parts you need there. I have a complete l92 that's been sitting in the garage for over a year now, just been putting it on hold.

Your knock sensors can be mounted on the side of the block ,behind the motor mounts and just extend the wires harness.Thats what i done when i put a LS2 in my TA.
My 09 Sierra Denali has the LS3 6.2L in it, and you will have plenty of power with it, Mine came with 405hp and i tow my car and trailer and cant tell it even back there

I may be wrong but I doubt you can use your 5.3 heads due to the bore size. Also on you TB, yours is three bolt and the one on the l92 is four bolt.

:stupid:
Like was stated above,
1. I doubt your stock injectors are big enough for your new engine
2. Lingenfelter's converter box, I have one, it works great, no issues
3. Mount knock sensors on side of the block, casper makes extentions, I'll attach a LS2 conversion with the mounting info in it
4. deleting VVT shouldn't be a problem, check with tuner though
5. Use L92 heads
6. SLP makes a wire adapter for the L76/L92 intake manifold
7. Using the converter box as stated above will be a lot easier, and less time consuming than swapping cranks.
