Random dying
For the past month my car will just randomly turn off while I'm driving. Everywhere online says it's the opti going bad, but is that still the case even though I'm useing the ltcc setup? I'm not getting any ses light when it happens but it pours black smoke right before it dies. then usually takes ten minutes before it attempts to fire but till then the motor will just turn over with the starter

I had the same issue for a little bit. Turned out to be something wrong with my tune in my PCM. We retuned it and played with it and it went away. I havent had the issue since then and that was over 4 months ago.

Did it have that problem since the first tune or did it just begin to happen? Cuz I've been only havin this problem in the heat, but on rainy days or in the cooler months it doesn't act up

Im going to go with opti also unfortunatly. I had a msd opti that would do the same damn thing to me. Randomly the car would just turn off as if i turned the key. Roll to the side of the road and she would generally fire right back up as if nothing happened.

Scan it, my car was/is doing the same thing, I scaned it and I got a bad knock sensor, but I replaced it so it must be the wire harness, a code for eprom error in the pcm and a low resolution for the opti

mines doing the same as well even to where over time i lost my tachs autometer 1st then stock but i replaced opti, plugs wires, and msd coil and controller..turns out when i wiggle the opti to pcm connection the car was reseting-fuel and ignition....so i replace the opti pigtail...got my stock tach back for the day then gone... so wiggling the connector still resets it...im about to clip the pcm side and rewire the connector since it sits under the trans dip im thinking trany fluid fouled the connection? could it be the pcm though? id really like to figure out exactly what it is before i clip the engine harness

I had this problem and it was the ICM. Mounted under the coil. I replaced it and was good to go for several thousand miles until the water pump spitup on the opti then I experianced the same problem as ICM. So could be either.
