ok. breaking in a motor. eveyone has there ways.

just a few questions. is it as easy as start it and let it warm up. shut it down. repalce oil and do it again. then for 500 miles, dont let the rpms stay the same?

does rings make a difference? like if i have total seal?

also i know not to use synthetic oil. so what kind? do i have to run the royal purple shit?

i know everyone on here wiill have a different opinion, but if i can get a few opinions it would be nice. also if i can get a few big shops to make an opinion

thanks
D

For breakin, I'd use Shell Rotella or something similar. As to the rest, you'll get LOTS of opinions, and some will even be right.

gotta seat the rings so it will need some rpm but with a roller cam you will not need a break-in period. ive been around alot of racers and motors for street and strip and was always told that roller motors will not need break in. but if your still worried about call a local machine shop or something they will give u the correct info if they know what they r doing at all!

^^^ i would be fine with that. But LS around here is very small. i asked a local guy to do my motor before i had ERL and he said "not interested." we really dont have much around. we have a lot of stock but that is it.
