Default stock 5.3 heads better than stock 241???

For some reason i'm having problems with my spark plug in cylinder number 1 where for some reason it keeps backing out, the threads haven't been stripped but from what i've noticed is i keep having to tighten them all down more frequently thought cylinder 1.
so...my question is i can pick up a set of stock 5.3 heads for about $50...is it worth the time/trouble? i'm on a tight budget so probably wouldn't be able to do any work to them. or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Stock 5.3l heads have a smaller valve then your stock heads do. If you can't get any work done to them then I would go back with the 241s. With some large valves and portwork the 5.3s would do pretty well.

You would get a bump in compression but the smaller intake valve would prevent any gains, IMO.

Have you tried anti seize on the plug before installing and tighening it down?

not worth it, you also have to factor in the cost of the retune for different heads, the head gaskets, oil, coolant and maybe few other costs that come with a head swap.

roughly how much would the port work run me? if it's not much i can pick up the heads and keep an eye on the spark plugs and just make sure they stay tight.

yes i have tried the anit-seize...i would go with the blue tite lock they have at oreilly but i would like to get the plugs out next time i want to change them lol

i didn't think about all little costs that would probably add up...thanks for pointing that out
