Default So how good are the stock rocker arms?

Ive got a LS6 , comp 232-234 112 .598 lift cam.
Patriot gold dual springs and patriot push rods.

Since My last retune I raised my rev limiter to 6,800.

But Im still nervus reving that high .

Are the stock rockers good enought for a setup like mine and reving to 6,800?

Most say they are from what ive read , I just don't want to chance it with a "maybe good enough"

A lot of guys that dont want to go the route of the full roller rockers just do the comp trunion upgrade. I believe its just an upgrade for the bearing of the rocker so you're not spitting needle bearings from the stockers into your engine. Theres a sponsor currently having a sale I think on them if you look in the sponsors sales section. They're like $130.

I have patriot golds .660 lift springs, Thunder racing 7.400 hardened push rods, LS2 timing chain, ported LS6 oil pump and a MS3 cam. I have 30k on this setup including massive dyno pulls, track runs and ALOT of racing out in "mexico" with locals. I shift my car at 6600, and my revv limiter is at 6900. I have also gone through 3, 100 shot bottles (517rwhp) on this setup....all this, on stock rocker arms.

basically what I am getting at, is my setup is much more aggressive then yours and add spray ontop of it, and I havent had a single issue....

Yep do the trunion upgrade from Comp and you should be golden.... Having said that I ran my stockers untouched for 100K with 30K of it on a 230/234 .612/.598 cam no problems. Only reason I switched to Yella Terra rockers was because I started running TFS heads.......

I have thousands of miles on my stock rocker arms hitting 7000rpms and never had a problem. I am about to tear the motor down in the next couple weeks, interested to see how things have held up.

Any of the parts selling sponsors can get the comp trunions for you. I have seen them on Thunder Racing's site.

I had stock rockers on my 100k mile 5.3 for 3 years making 640whp (turbo)and shifting to 7500rpms with a .580 lift cam , I now have the same rockers on a 6.0L w/ a LS6 cam..... they work perfect still.... no problems.

Eastside Performance's Nitrous Record setting car ran on factory stock rockers, running 8's consistant at the time and this was before the Trunions were becoming avalible. They are pretty reliable.

But considering there are other options out there, they can be considered as well. Such as a Light weight RR or a Trunion set up like what was mentioned eariler
