Holley LS Fest - Roll call, who's coming..............

I will be coming, bringing the car in my sig. Gonna run 12.0 index and true street. Will be showing up on thursday and stayin till late sunday.

I have verbal confirmation of four outlaw radial cars coming... It's ON.

Sorry I will have to miss this one cause of the long drive and I don't want to mess up the engine (I just got running again) before the LSX Shootout. Plus $$ for the gas/hotel is an issue. They're giving us lots of mandatory unpaid days off at work! Best of luck to all I bet Kentucky is nice.

We survived the NHRA Unleashed in Indy so it looks like we will be there.

I got around to installing the clutch in my car and while trying to take the transmission out I realized the driveshaft was stuck in the tranny. So I pull the transmission with the driveshaft still in it, beat the driveshaft out with a sledge hammer to find out the output shaft splines are twisted :( Now I get to rush and try to get a viper shaft here a machine it down and bore out the tailshaft housing in time to break in the clutch! Wish me luck.

Not 100% sure. It'll have to weigh 3575 if I run both foggers or 3450 on one kit. I can run the TT5 class at 3118 #'s on one kit. But what really looks fun is the GMHTP Shut Your Face Race. I can weigh 3000 and run all 3 kits. I'll probably run 2 classes (one definitely being the GMHTP) if that is allowed. I'll just have to pull the weight bars in and out and cap off the extra kits when running the other restricted class.

It's damn near a totally different car. Same foundation so to speak but lots of upgrades and bugs worked out.

Cool. Let us know if we can be of any help. We don't have or keep any secrets on what we have or do to try and go fast. Ryan is slick as owl shit when it comes to drag racing. He won't tell you wrong. See you guys there.

I made my reservations today, so I will be there ! I have 3 LS vehicles so not sure yet which one I am bringing but sounds like its going to be fun....

Will be there with the wife and her DD Procharged GTO doing the cruise only. Also have a couple buddies coming up from South Florida that I will picking up in Nashville to attend. The Candlewood Suites on Wall street is a nice place to stay, not sure on the price work always pays it and I collect priority points and then get to stay for free when I need a hotel :).

I'll be there with the LS7 GMC Canyon. We are "in-process" of installing a NOS fogger system. Hoping to test this week, and as long as no parts fall out the bottom, we will be there.

We are also bringing the Hot Rod E-Rod Camaro down for Freiburger. If I had more room in the trailer, I would bring my LSA powered Jeep Rubicon. There is only so much room in a 50' trailer, so the Jeep has to stay home.

I finally registered and made my reservations, just the autox pack for me. Curious what the turnout will be, and how they will handle parking. Looking at the aerial view of the facility, I'm curious where the competitors are allowed to park. I'm driving my car to/from the hotel, and will need to change tires on pavement before the event and before leaving for the day. It'd be nice to be able to unload all my support equipment, and change tires, in the same area each day.

I hope its ok to leave the event after saturday morn test run, I got a UMTR Stick shift race to go to saturday afternoon, going to that, then coming back and be there for first round of racing sunday? thats my plan. that sound like something I can do? cause first round of the drag classes are not running till sunday morn correct?

Very true.. Although Mike Brown had the field covered by a second until he had some trouble in the final round. True Street is a little more lenient on the tire sizes, which gives the Corvette guys some more options. Im sure there are a few Corvette guys who would like to run the TT5 type stuff at these events, but theyre pretty limited when theyre trying to find a 275 radial for 16 and 17" wheels. I personally dont see anything wrong with letting someone in an IRS Corvette run a 325 radial on a big wheel against someone on 275/60s with a solid axle.. Tell me who has the advantage there?

Anyone who's going to be competitive in TT5, 275 radial, etc. is going to be on a 15" wheel. There are kits out there to allow a Corvette to run a 15" wheel. People also swap in solid rears all the time.

A C5 weighs about 500lbs less than a LS1 F-body from the factory. They have an advantage there. Should we take that advantage away by making the base weight for any class 3700LB? I don't think so.

Every platform has it's inherent flaws and advantages.

You can run multiple classes so long as you can be ready and legal for each class...

yeah he told me about it, I wish I had the kind of money to go the direction that was planned (big turbo car i'd say) but I dont. But I do have what I think is a pretty cool setup. Stroker with spray and a faceplated t56. I plan to post a "build thread" once I get going on the final assembly, car is mostly wired inside, minus the nitrous controller stuff(arm switch and gauge need put in)

but enough about that in this thread lol

i think the weather will be moving out by mid morn. I am going to leave the house around 7 or 8, be there about the time they might start getting some runs going. should work out ok...

going to test the car tonight at the local track to make sure my recent changes are A OK.

Well no one is saying anything from the track so that must mean one of two things they are racing like crazy or they all went back to the motels. I hope they are racing the wheels off those cars!

Just saw an update on Facebook! THEYRE MAKING PASSES! WOOT!

We left there about 30min ago, it's raining off and on and quite a few people are rolling our for the evening. We didn't pay to go in, we parked outside the gate for about 30min to watch the weather. Unless we see some bright sun soon I guess we'll be there early in the morning hoping for clear skies.

I was coming but looks like alot of rain for Saturday. So I'm staying put. Unless things change a bunch.

Not many passes today but those that did run had good air. The rain gave a small window and they raced it till it closed..... not to shabby for a rainy day.

Looks like my event is done. I have an oil pressure problem, not sure at this time if it's real or electrical. If it's electrical I'll try to get it fixed before I drive the car home. If it's real I have no options at this point. Not looking forward to paying a tow truck driver for a 800mile tow. Going to pull a valvecover tomorrow to try to verify oil is getting to the top of the motor
