Default Looking to rebuild my LT1 Bottom END Any Advice

What's up guys, I have a 95 impala ss with 120k on the stock bottom end and a LE2 setup with about 20k, i want to rebuild the bottom end, and replace the lifters with LS7's ect. What would you guys recommend as far as a rebuild kit or rotating assembly, i was thinking about going with a eagle setup, would that suffice I only want to do this once, and i may get the machine shop to make it a 4blolt main . It's a daily driver it won't have any boost ect, i'm on a budget, what would you guys recommend thanks in advance. I was also looking into contacting Karl Ellewin and ellewin engines for one of his rebuild kits, we will see i'm just doing some research now thanks guys.

IMO I wouldn't rebuild unless it was needed. 120K is nothing if the engine has been taken care of. Do a leakdown to see what your cylinder pressures are like. If you want to rebuild to a 355 then there is absolutely nothing wrong with using the stock crank and rods at your power level. They are some of the strongest engine pieces Chevy has ever made. No boost or N20 then go with stock or some sort of hyper-u piston. No need to go 4-bolt. If your lifters aren't collapsing then no reason to change those either.

Thanks man ya i think that i have a lifter problem and i have some blow by, so i think that i need to atleast get new rings. So i though about getting a rebuild atleast new rings, lifters, main and cam bearings. and i would go with a 355 but i have already had a dyno tune for my 350, i don't want the exta cubes because i will have to have it retuned to do so, i wish i could though, and i'm located in alexandria VA, do you know of a shop

Absofreakinglutely! PM on the way. They've rebuilt LTx and LSx engines for the last 10+ years. It's where I had my shortblock done and they also did a stock block for me. They know all the in's/out's on LTx engines.
It's possible you won't even need a bore depending on their condition. May just need a hone so you can actually reuse the stock pistons.

You will be fine. You reusing your stock pistons heavily depends on whether or not your cylinders need to be bored or if they can get away with a hone. The only way to answer that is to have the bores measured.

I'd like to know about this shop too. I do all my work myself, but I'd like to know some shops around here. I only know of a few shops that are f-body specific and they were kinda far away.

Good advice from SS RRR.
My bottom end rebuild consists of just a hone and resized rods. Stock GM everything except ARP rod bolts and a Milodon oil pump.

Thanks guys, it looks as if i won't quite be spending as much as i anticipated, so why go with all the expensive forged stuff if we can just replace bearings and rings oil pump ect and be GOOD with a powerful top end ?

I am doing a stock rebuild on my bottom end right now. I just had my block hot tanked, honed, cam bearings and brass freeze plugs installed at the machine shop. Also had the crank polished and I only paid $150. Going to assemble everything myself using stock hardware and I should only have about $450 total in my rebuilt shortblock

Forged is better if you plan on maybe putting a little spray on it at some point, Plus I just feel better with it forged LOL
