Default ARH 1 7/8ths, ARH ORY, Dual/Dual Question

I finally got around to getting my headers installed last weekend. It sounds great, minus that nasty rasp around 2,500rpm at part throttle. I am thinking of two ways of fixing this, going to a 4" setup with the FM merge, or just sticking a bullet after the Y. What would you suggest, or what have you found to fix this?

If it were me I'd go with the flowmaster merge first, then go from there if your still not happy.

I don't think putting the bigger merge in there will do anything to help the rasp. You are probably better off with a small bullet muffler or getting a y-pipe with cats.

I like the little bite @ 2500 your setup has. My buddy had that setup on his SS and it was awesome, just too quiet.

Well that sucks, would I likely get that same rasp at those RPMs on my Dual-Dual with Kooks Headers & ORY? (still haven't fully decided on which Headers/Y yet) I too would like to know why the rasp is happening...

Are there any Headers & ORYs that do NOT give that rasp with the Dual-Dual system without adding a bullet muffler?

Simply answered; no. If you have LT's, an ORY, and pretty much any cat-back you will most-likely have some rasp.

Assuming that's true, what's a better sound and is there a performance difference doing a catted Y vs. just adding a bullet muffler?

Does the bullet with an ORY get rid of all the rasp? What bullet recommended?

You have some rasp Jesse, lol. Not like a LM1 but there is some. Did you have your cutout open or closed at the track? I have the vid of us racing and I can't really hear my LT's, ORY, and GMMG over yours it was so loud.

I think your mistaking that sound for pure sex rather than rasp lol.. I had the cutout open at the track.. when it is closed it is a huge difference in sound with the Magnaflow

No thanks. It really isn't raspy, its more of a resonating sound at 2,500rpm at part throttle I want to debunk. At WOT it sounds excellent. I am going to throw a bullet on it when I get back to a lift, and hold off on the rest until I see how it changes. I will get some sound clips to show the difference as well. If this doesn't solve it, will just go to a 4" setup.

I am thinking it has more to due with the auto and where the revs sit during part throttle versus a six speed. A converter will put it past the annoying resonating point. Ordered a bullet today, and will get it on this weekend.
