What K Members have slots. What K Members have holes (Burkhart from antoher post)?

Holes are the way to go. slots, you're asking to have to readjust the thing on a regular basis. If, you go with a setup that has slots, best thing to do is sand/prep the k member when you assembe it, use a hardened and THICK steel washer on the top and bottom where the bolt goes thru the k member, and once it's aligned, weld them up, GOOD. This way you don't have to worry about the adjustment gonig out of whack from the first wheelie you do.

AJE made a nice setup with the struts too, I recall. Too bad it was next to impossible to get, and everyone cried it wasn't stock suspension as well.

Nad it been available, and noone was gonna bitch about it not being stock suspension I probably would have went that route and put a spindle mount wheel on, go all out on the weight reduction.

The Burkhart setup, with the narrowed a arms, is pretty killer though, I don't know what the weight of it vs the aje would have been, but noone will bitch about this, and with the arms an inch narrrow, along with their spindles and whatnot it's as light as can be, and still have good strength, IMO.

Cost is the bad part of it. Beileve me what the full burkhart setup ran wasn't a whole lot different... I just didn't want to wait forever to get the AJE setup, and I didn't want the harrassment that would come with swapping to struts, for some reason noone likes it when you do that.

In your profesional opinion, who makes the best k-member/a-arm package and do you think those racecraft drop spindle can handle street duty, besides being low to the ground ? Thanks, Derek.

If you go struts, then you can't stop there. you're going to need carbon fiber brakes after that. And who said racing isn't an addiction?

If I did struts there'd be spindle mounted wheels and of course the carbon brakes at the same time. I don't think doing one without the others makes any sense.

i really liked the aje stut setup the price was decent considering that everything had to be made and i may go that route still if the still is not light enough

In my opinion we make the best stuff but I am biased. Our spindles can handle some street use but remember, they are not a cast iron part. I can't say they will survive all of the deep pot holes on the roads today.

This is what we do with slotted k members. Makes it nice when you disassemble and reassemble the suspension.

Ya, I know some guys that had them move, with the slots. And put a tack weld on the stock bolts (tear drop washers).
Getting a good tight fitting washer sounds like a great idea, But I would still just put a tac on them. If you even change spindles or LCA, go back to stock? (sell the K member?) If would need to reset it up, it would be a bitch, and kill resale. Easy to cut off wheel a tac,and hold it tight, I have to do it got my exhaust. My shit is slow tho.

I woudl mot use the stock A Arms without a slotted K Member. No adjustment without the rod ends.

i was thinking to keep the stock lower A-Arms and have adjustable upper arms till i can afford to have the lower ones.
do u think alignment can be set with only adjustable upper arms?

Using stock lower a arms with an aftermarket K member isn't a great idea in genaral, nevermind one with no slots in it. That I will put good $ on, beign impossible to align, at ALL, regardless what's on for a top arm.

I wouldn't put an aftermarket K member on without the lower arms, and I wouldn't put aftermarket lower arms on with a stock k member. The 2 go hand in hand IMO. The uppers, I've seen people reuse, but even that I somewhat question.
