Default need alt wiring help.

Need help. I am finishing off the 911 ls1 project and the alt is not charging the battery. I had the alt tested and was told it was good. I wired the harness as so the alt got the appropriate momentary 12v with the ignition however the battery is not getting a charge.
I ran a 1 gauge from the alt post directly to the battery, about 10ft.
any ideas of what I may be missing?

link to build for some visuals

That is your problem the wire going to the alternator!! It needs to see the input voltage when running so swap the wire to be hot at key on

Default re

I have installed many LSx engines in many cars. Usually you have to ad a resistor inline from the alternator 12v souce to the gauge. If you dont, you might hurt the alternator. Go to EZ2WIRE.com and checkout the conversion pigtails they offer. Instructions are there.
