Default How far along have built 4L60Es come over the past 10 years?

Like the title says, how far along have built 4L60Es come in the past 10 years?

I have been out of the LS1 scene for quite some time(since about 2001) due to deployments in the sandboxes. Transmission companies were barely breaking into 4L60Es then and starting to really learn on how to build them correctly.

For a street car in the 450-500rwhp and 7000rpm or beyond, can a reputable shop build a 4L60E to handle this abuse?

Thanks!

It funny. Just about every month new & improved parts still come to market.
You can get good life @ 450-500 rwhp. Keeping the rpms down help reduce wear.

I was thinking of going the 4L80E route, but I do not want to get rid of my SY4000, it performs to well on the street.

I do not ever plan on getting over 550rwhp with this particular car so a built 4L60E sounds good.

They've come a looong way. I run a FLT (the best IMO) Level IV on my TA without a problem. I drive it to and from the track and shift at 7200 rpms. I installed it 4-1/2 years ago.

Thanks guys, I have searched, read and still reading lol. I have a lot of catching up to do, but it is definitely down to either one of those companies when it is time.

FLT level 4 here and couldnt beleive the difference between stock and built, at the track i shaved 3 tenths with the trans swap, thats with running an SS4000 in both the stock unit and then the built unit, and shifts on the street are so firm its amazing, im in love and sso happy i spent the money, and FLT level 4s really arent that expensive!
