97 WS6 runs rich and rough
Well, my buddy called me to do plugs on his 97 WS6. Said it was running rough. I didn’t do any trouble shooting just got to doing the plug change. Car had TR6’s with about 35 gap. Pretty sure the car had a kit at one point lol. Well I did the plugs and he took it for a spin the next day. It ran terrible. I stopped by to check it out and he wasn’t lieing. The car idled rough, and was pluming black smoke. Plugged in my scanner, and found codes for O2’s, Bank 1 &2 lean, bank 1&2 no activity and a few others I cant remember at the moment. The long term fuel trim was at +50 for both banks and short term was +25.
I unplugged the o2’s, then tried to start it. It sputtered and died. It would not restart and I called it a night. I checked the plug wires with my handy snap on ignition tester and didn’t seem to work consistently (the type you put over the plug wire) I will try my inline spark checker next time I work on the car. It had a LTCC coil pack system on it. It has 2 dial in the control box and a few micro switches, He said he had been changing them. What are the correct settings for what’s inside the control box. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the long post.. 3 hour sleep ramblings lol.

Hes says he messed with long before he had any probs. One dial looks like it is for retard and one is for rpm limiter. But I has no idears. Going to try putting an ODB1 PCM in and see if it runs, if not I'll tune out the o2's and then the MAF.
