Default Broken valvespring club... come on in.

Well, confirmed my fears yesterday. put a leakdown tester to the cylinder with the broken valvespring and I can hear it leaking into the exhaust primary. ^%*(#&%$!!!

so, now I get the joy of ripping the cylinder head out to asess the damage. I work on other people's **** enough, I don't care to do it on my own time for grins and giggles.

which brings me to my point.... what in the hell is going on? I get a bad batch of scorpion roller rockers with the wrong pushrod cup installed... and they break. I get sent different headers than what I ordered from the vendor.....EGR instead of non-emissions... and the capped-off EGR bung blows off the primary and rips a hole in my header. now, I've got a no-expenses spared engine in an unraced street car with less than, or around, 5000 miles, that was intentionally overbuilt to be reliable...... that is not reliable. I mean, come on... a broken valvespring at 5k miles? I've seen race motors built for half the cost have less parts-related failures. F**K!

It's just luck of the draw really. I ran with incorrect length pushrods for nearly 3 years and somehow managed to not kill my lifters (very annoying tick sound at times though).

Which batch of scorpions did you get? Early 2008 or more recent? I just got some and am 1000 miles in.... making me think of inspecting then now.

Wow!!!! I found out yesterday that my valvespring was broken as well, the only thing that saved me I guess, is the inner spring held it together. Going with some 921 comps now... Hope there isnt any other damage on your cylinder head...

I would research the Caddy lifters. There is a reason nobody on here runs them anymore......
