Chevrolet Camaro 1967-2002 - Question about 4th gen camaros with only a single exhaust tip on driver side

I remember seeing 4th gen camaros with only one exhaust tip pointed towards the left of the car, instead of the dual tip appearance out of both the driver and passenger side of the car.

For some reason I wanna say it's around 97 and 98 models. So I'm not sure if it was LT1 or LS1 that did it. But it was from the factory like that I think.

But if I am remembering that correctly, how come some came like that? SS models stick out in my mind with this exhaust setup, but I don't know why cause I don't think that they did that.
