Default New Heat Shield for my K&N

I made this heat shield with hopes it would reduce the hot air used from the motor. I don't know if this is going to made a huge difference but i can't hurt!
I mocked this up out of card board to get the fit with-in a 1/8 " of the hood so I could make the seal tight with some insulating foam up under the hood. I don't like the look of the seal being on top of the heat shield. The 3/16 alum. was easy to work with. I painted it flat black to match my intake. I made the tabs to hold it on work in the holes that were in my intake plate so no more were needed. I think it turned out pretty good. What do you guys think?

That is bad *** looks very clean and not homemade. I think it would also help to rush more air into the filter. how much would you cost me to make one for my FIPK?

You should take some more pictures zoomed out to see it in relation the the engine bay. Hard to tell how big it is zoomed in. It does look good from the pictures you posted though.

The air has to get there the same way sooner or later. It may come from a different direction on yours (maybe) but it still flying passed your filter!
And 01 drop.
I saw a cold air intake that had two filters(can't remember the brand) that had a shield kinda like this. So I knew it couild work. Just a little different fit and shape.

It looks a lot like the one i made for my car...

Put that seal on it and take the baffles out and it makes a difference but your filter will get dirty in 0-60... lol

The seal is perfect up on the hood! Tight as a frog's ***! I think I will leave the baffles! To afraid of what might get sucked in around here!

Put some Thermal Ceramic coating on it and it'll block even more heat!
SecondSkin Firewall is what I'm talking about.
