Cadillac CTS-V - How accurate is the MPG calc in your opinion.

Yesterday on the way home from work on a good 5-6 mile flat stretch of highway I flipped on the instant MPG calc. For the whole period, with cruise set at 57 in 6th gear I was seeing it bounce between 29-30 mpg.

Seems VERY high.

i have stock size tires so my speedo is fairly accurate off 1-2 mph sometimes according to gps and my average mpg is fairly accurate
the fuel range varies too much to tell
that sounds very high for instant, i drove from MI to FL on cruise control and got a best of 23ish mpg
just my 2c

Yeah I followed it for awhile and then watched it on uphills/etc. Stock Rims/Tires/Tune so not sure what is going on but on the slight inclines it would drop to like 24mpg and then on the flats it would raise to 29-30 again.

I've been checking mine every week (fill up once a week) for the last 2 months. Pretty accurate - within 2-3 tenths so far.

My previous car ('09 Cobalt SS) was always at least 1 mpg lower than reality.

Yea mine is damn accurate. I filled up yesterday and it took 14.06 gallons, i checked the fuel used function and it was 14.0 on the dot. MPG are always almost dead on for me at least.

:|Good god bro, you can modulate the accelerator you know. LOL. I was getting about 14.5 or so before the RT Cats. Now I am getting btw 16-16.5 with no change in driving habits other than a few more 3rd gear pulls to hear the exhaust in tunnels etc...

i watched it on the trip down 95 home last night and it stayed at 22 cruising at 85 the whole way home and I crunched the numbers when I filled up yesterday and it's spot on.

at 55 to 60, mine will get around 30 mpg...and at 75 she will avg around 25.

my first tank of gas the DIC said i got 16.1 combined (50/50 city highway). and with a me doing the math is was just under that at 15.7 mpg.

do you have a tune?

100% stock. no tune, etc.

although i don't do much highway driving and work is 4 miles away. it's normally gear after gear after gear, stop, repeat.

You never had the computer re calibrated for the bigger rims and tires? or are your MPG numbers done at fill up?
