Throw a few more mods into that SS and see the outcome.

I personality didn't even know the 2011 model was out, but it's cool to see the small improvements. I really like the new seat color designs and they now have HUD. The v6 got a little boost too. :)

If price is part of your equation the BOSS is going to cost a bit more than a 1SS or 2SS.

It won't. Its an extremely close race between the Camaro and the GT right now. If the Boss is gonna pack 28 more horses then bone stock it'll crush the camaro hands down. The question is whats that extra 28hp gonna cost you. Ford is definately playing hardball, I think an LS7 camaro is in order.

That article is a year and a half old and 2011 cars are already in the showrooms. If the Z/28 come out it wont be until next year.

Either way the Boss is a 2012 and the Z28 will cost more and be aimed at the GT500. We don't know if GM has any changes in store for the 2012 SS other than interior and won't know for almost a year. I don't see GM doing nothing in response to the Boss. I would love to see a "1LE" based on the Z06 carbon mindset meaning it's an SS that gets some lightweight Z28 parts and an HP bump.

Why on earth would you regret your purchase. If you are looking for a great car that responds very well to mods then you got it but if you are looking for the fastest car on the planet right out of the box then I think the Bugatti should be on your list for your next purchase.. I also regret that you bought the Camaro, because then I wouldn't be subjected to this girly post.. Please trade it in asap for the Ford before you wet your bed!! :gtfo:

I figured that some of 5th gen camaro owners would have regrets because the new 5.0 runs faster than the camaro. I think you shouldn't regret your purchase. If that's the case of you having regret, then you may think that you made a $33,000 mistake. Usually, when a new car comes out, I wait awhile longer before I buy it. Within that time frame, carmakers usually tweaks, work out all the bugs, revise the application for that car to have more hp/tq than when it first came out. In example, like what they did with 04gto LS1 to 05/06 gto LS2. Sometimes, it's good to be patient. So what...the 5.0 is faster than the camaro. Make yours faster. We can say stock for stock and all that. I say run what you brung.

The Mustang is faster, but you are in a chevy forum, what are you going to expect to hear for the most part.. The modding to make it as fast doesn't fly with me.. so what is going to happen when the mustang guy spends $ modding his car? He still will be faster...

The new Camaro is awsome... you will never be the fastest.. except now there's one more car faster than yours.. lol

im betting there is no middle option. maybe an increase in power but dont expect a third v8 option.

wasn't your other post 16 minutes earlier enough? pointless arguement. you'll call anyone that likes GM a 'fanboy' and disregard their opinions. just go buy the damn thing.

I agree but they can give an HP bump across the board then offer a special package that adds gearing and trims a little fat. It would be nothing to drop 100lbs. off the car, make a special package and call it a "1LE". GM is good for a HP bump every few years. A tweaked tune and intake will get an LS3 to 450 flywheel HP.

The LSA will technically be a 3rd V8 option though.

Current rumor has the Boss costing around $38K, which puts it higher than the 2SS/RS Camaro. I think the Boss is an excellent option for someone that wants a track ready car without wanting to do the mods themselves. Opinions will vary, but based on what I've seen, a $38K Boss Mustang looks like a good value. GM could easily respond to this with some suspension tweaks and a diet.

$38K puts it higher than some SS camaros, but not very many at least not around here. I did stop to price a couple of 2011 GTs and the loaded hardtop was $37K. According to the salesman it and the $42K convertible were the only ones left. Everything that was cheaper had sold out over the weekend, accoding to him you can get into the GT for about $34K. Now my guess is that $38K for the Boss is gonna be a bit low, my guess is low $40's. Anything more than that puts it way to close to the Cobra. I think low 40s make it a decent deal but money would be better spent on a GT and just adding a good cold air kit and tune IMO.

My hope is that GM responds with a slightly lighter Camaro and a bump in HP.

Agreed. This is the Gen 5 Camaro External Bolt-On Tech section, so this is the wrong section for this even if it weren't a troll post. There are plenty of open Boss threads in the correct sections.

Closed.
