Default ls1 alternator on a lt1

Any gains to be had by switching over to an ls1 mini alternator?

I don't even think an LS1 alternator would even work. Not to mention an LT1 alternator puts out more amperage. Either way, there's no real benefit.

yeah there is. Its from an LS1 so there is an automatic 50hp gain from just the fact its from an almighty LS1

The only think I could think you would possibly gain is the slight weight reduction.

Whilst I would like to think this may have some merrit, I would like to hope with time that we have made some improvements. I mean look at the 80's cell phones compared to now days

I would definately be into some weight reduction.

We will have a new alternator relocation kit using a Ls1 alternator shortly.

approx 5# weight difference and there are high amp units available

Man you are really getting serious about this weight reduction, lol. There's gotta be more you can do to your car. Maybe you need some fresh eyes to take a look at it. Go send studderin an email and get together with him on the weekend. He's a freakin genius with stripping weight out of a 4th gen.
