Default Idle surge after stall swap...

Hey guys, this past Sat. i replaced my stock converter with a Yank SS 3600. after a few snags along the way we finally got everything put back together.
But now, my engine rpm's surge from 650-900 rpm's while in Reverse or any of the drive gears....the idle stays at around 650 while the transmission is in Park or Neutral.....but in any other gear, while I'm stopped, the idle fluctuates.

Has anybody else experience this problem? could anyone enlighten me as to what is causing this. My friend said it might be the PCM doing an idle relearn since the battery was disconnected for about 13-14 hours while doing the swap. Could this be it? Thanks for the help.

It is the idle relearn, but with a smaller diameter converter it's still going to idle weird until you change the base idle airflow with tuning.
