Default Coolant lines in the heads

I'm doing a H/C swap for the first time. Started tearing down the motor this weekend. I can not get the coolant lines off either head. i and my friend both tried with a wrench and socket and they won't budge. Is the a secert trick or do i just need to find myself a hulk to get'em off?

If you can't get them off, cut the hard line. Then when you reinstall them, just use a short section of hose and some hose clamps to reattach them.

There is a metal washer backed rubber o-ring that makes it a bit of a pain to get off.

Use a 15mm 6 point box wrench for the best grip on it. I know 9/16 and 5/8 don't work on the 95 LT1 that I was working on yesterday.

When I took my 94 Camaro engine apart the bolts were really tough to get off but I took them off of a 95 Vette motor that was really easy.

I'm going to cut her up, thanks RamAir. I'm going the easy way now.

I'd only cut them as a last resort. No one likes to see hoses attached. The hose could give you problems later where as the hard line wont (other than being a bitch to get off)

Last week I got a bud to help me lift off both heads at the same time on my red car. We set them down on 2 thick layers of cardboard and I was able to work the bolts from there with obviously a lot more room to get at them. One came off nicely, the other rounded and took some time anyway, but no cut steam pipe.

Still, I want to replace the whole deal with a DIY setup because I f'ing hate the banjo bolt & hard pipe setup...

How would you see a 4" piece of hose on the back of the heads with the engine in the car?

There is not much pressure in the steam lines. Plenty of people have cut and spliced the hard line without a problem.
