Convertible Vehicles - Camaro trunk lid - binding

My trunk lid doesnt open when I just lift it, it comes up a few inches and then can not be lifted any further. It feels like it is stuck. By pulling it backwards a bit and then lifting it can be opened smoothly all the way.

Any ideas of what may cause this and how to fix it?

That is normal. My TA does the same thing.

Thanks. I just kinda got the impression that got worse over time. I need to check whether there is a way to at least lube the hinges.

My TA also does this. I looked at it more closely, and there are little plastic bushings in the hinges, and some of them are worn through.

If anyone knows where to get new ones, fill us in. I'm too cheap to buy a whole new hinge.

That explains why it is getting worse. Maybe I should run down to GM Sports Salvage and pick up a hinge to experiment with.
