New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Is there a 6.0 LS2 GMC Envoy available? What about a 2WD Trail Blazer SS?

I have a couple questions about some of the LSX powered SUV's out there.

Is there a 2WD version of the Trail Blazer SS out there? I've looked at a couple and all have been full time AWD so far.

I have yet to see a 6.0 GMC Envoy. Is there such a car out there, or did you have to stick with the Trail Blazer to get the 6.0?

From a modding stand point, how superior is the 6.0 platform to the 5.3?

2WD Trailblazer SS does exist. And the SS's 6.0 is the same engine from the Corvette and GTO except for a few packaging differences.

Put a Turbo on the 5.3 and it makes a lot of HP.

Performance wise, the 6.0 is superior for obvious reasons. They are the same type/family of engine, so clearly the larger size means more power. Mod for mod, that power margin is just going to get bigger. The 5.3 is a very capable engine though, so I wouldn't rule it out completely. To answer your question though, the 6.0 is superior.

the 6.0 is "superior" but you are not going to notice much of a difference unless you are getting into some serious modifications. .7 liters is not a big difference at all. That being said the LS2 6.0 in the SS has a lot of performance additions from the factory versus a typical factory LM7 5.3 that make it a far better power plant in stock form.

the 5.3 was also available in the buick rainer too...

7.8's in my old '06 Envoy Denali with the 5.3L LH6 LS1 Cheatr cam and 150 shot of nitrous, 8.1's in my Saab 9-7x Aero stock with just intake, stall, and a tune.
