Nates T/A

First off my name is Nathan and ive been searching and reading on this forum for about a month now trying to decide what will be the best route to go when i get my T/A. So let me explain my situation reall quick. I currently own a viper gts and am going to sell it and my other vehicles in order to help my wife get through school. After selling all my current cars i plan on buying a ws6 trans am and will have some money to put into it. So heres what i would like to be able to do with it and would like to know if it can be done and if so how should i go about doing it ( what mods, motor, and all is what im looking to get info on.

Would like it to run 6's in the 1/8th
be reliable enouph to drive anywhere i wanted
pass the wife test ( comfort while driving )


My budget will be around 10 thousand.
So if you all could do it again how would you go about doing it?
