or should i be fine with stock 243s and stock valves. a .045 cometic gasket with a 240/256 .647/.647 111lsa cam with a -7cc piston? if i am fine with that how should i keep the lifters up while the trays and heads are bolted down?

sounds like a pain in the *** lol. I doubt the lifters will stay stuck in those trays while being swung around on a cherry picker like that. I guess just hope for the best or throw an unused stock cam or something in there until the new one comes in.

this is "ethan[ws6] I'm on my buddies account. Before you take the cam out spin it inside the engine and the lifters will shoot up into the plastic trays. That in theory will hold them long enough for the new cam to be put in, but there are no guaruntees. That's the best option, but if a lifter falls down you will be back to step one tearing the engine down. Good luck!
