Billy,
I once called my 6.0 "cam only" and was corrected rather quickly.
Still feel like you, it is a cam only motor with necessary mods to make it work.
heads are milled on an lq4 to get maybe 9.8/1...What is the compression on a stock ls1?
any one ever put a 5.3 head on an LS1 with a cam...is that considered cam only?
Any way, I now run a stock cube 346... :-)

it has a 8.8 in it thats been cut down a few inches on each side to run a more evenly offset rim...aje front end stuff and has the stock style rear suspension also with a anti roll-bar from team z...its even still got the factory rear shocks on it(until i can find a good deal on some adjustable ones)...thanks billy

i think people are accepting this type setup more and more as cam only, because i'm not catching to much flack anymore...the ford sites was the most aprehensive than anyone, now even they dont argue about it so much...congrats on your new set-up and keep us updated with your progress....thanks billy

my buddy has a 3rd gen with a ls1 that weighs 2900lbs(with him in it 220lbs) with full interior minus front drag race seats...so its possible to get fairly light with f-bodys....ps those twin 67's wont care to much about weight...lol

Are you running adjustable upper and lowers? Do you drive the car on the street much? If so, how does the anti roll bar effect driving manners?
Thanks,

Nice times and a nice car! I would like to build an LS powered Fox coupe one day...
The cam only argument comes from back in the day - before all of the transplants and rebuilds came along - you would be disqualified from a cam only class if your head bolts had marks on them from a socket! You literally could not remove the heads for a class like that... that thinking carried over to the internet threads and such. Personally, unless you are running a class that requires you to meet the rules, who cares about the "titles"...

y did you run the 799s and not a set of stock LS3 or L92 heads milled? im tryin to figure out if i should run a cathedral port head and a super victor. or a square port head and a victor jr, since they do not make a super victor for square ports, in my fox.

With the number 6 pill and out of the box carb, I would think you have more in it. Put a wide band on there to get a AFR reading going down track.
Makes me want to get a glide lol.

thanks for the compliments...but i have some bad news,i sprayed it and #6 piston let go...but it was time to move on to bigger and hopefully better things....atleast it made one good pass before it let go...all the other pistons look like brand new except for that one...only thing i can figure is it might have been weak from the factory...well anyways R.I.P. 6.0 and i'm thankful for the good times i had with it....now i need to get my friend in gear and post the video....

What was the one good pass?
Did you pull any timing at all? Like using the pink wire on the 6010 which is the wire that pulls timing when activated.
Did you get it blowing up on video? HAHA.
What next? 408?

5.76@119 off a 1.30 short time...i pulled 8 degree's out had some good gas in the tank...and yes its on video as soon as buddy can get it down loaded he'll post it for me...i want to build a 400 plus something with some afr's or tf's...i'm still picking thru the rubble and hope i can save my block...

LOL, 5.76 is rollin out. And 1.30 is awesome. How big of a shot was it?
I would do a 408 LS2 with L92 heads. It could be done on a budget pretty cheap considering the output of the motor.
If you are looking for a short block, get a hold of AES engines on here. They have great deals.
