Talking New Best with Patriot 5.3's, Macs, 224 cam

went to gainesville today, DA varied from roughly 200-400 ft i believe

i had two goals, 1) hit 11's, 2) hit 120
got one of them

new best time:

60': 2.034 stock rear
1/8 et: 7.95
1/8 mph: 94.5
1/4 et: 12.04
1/4 mph: 120.3

heres a vid: http://home.insightbb.com/~black02ss/TallyTA.mpg (thanks hc02ss) ran a full bolt on, blown/aftercooled, stang pushing 13#'s

ran a few more 12.0somethings @ 119.9somethings

mods are:
patriot stg II 5.3's milled .015 ($1000 heads)
224/224 581/581 112 +0 (relatively small cam)
Macs (cheap headers)
asp's
custom exhaust
rest of bolt ons
STOCK REAR AND GEARS

car is still untuned since the head install

ive REALLY FUGGEN HAPPY with the mph since my whole car is built on a 21 year old college budget (heads were $1000, cheap headers, everything else on sale or used). and i hope this shows how patriots can perform. 120 now, new cam and tuning probably 122-123 later.

anyone wanna pitch in for the ryan needs a rear end fund???

Oh so close... just a matter of time now.

That was one quick 2v. I don't know his exact setup, but someone told me he was running an aftercooled S-trim @ 13psi.

I've got a similar cam and have been wondering what a full weight car like mine with those heads runs. So you're having to shift at 6000? You would **** when you get to shift at 6600. Major difference right there. Not to mention 4.10's on DR's or ET's!!!! Good job man. I'm shooting for 11.50's with heads and 12 bolt. Looks to be very attainable.

Just wondering where you see it says he is shifting at 6000? I believe he is shifting around 6400. I have a FULL weight H/C car. Total raceweight is almost 3700lbs. My best to date with 4.10's and et streets with a not so great 60' (1.78) is 12.0 @ 116. I know I could get a high 11 with a little practice.

Says "untuned" so I assumed he had none. He'll still pick up with tuning for his set up I would hope.

Very nice run. It sound like you can drop some ET and pick up some mph by powershifting. Your shifts sounded a little slow. Not trying to be rude...just trying to help.

That is a little misleading. It has been tuned when he was cam only, but not since he added heads. I belive his raceweight is around 3400-3500lbs. He weighs 120 soaking wet, and the extra small weight removed helps.

Cool. I see you're going with a different cam with your heads. The word is duration is making fat power across with heads, I'm guessing that's what you're trying. You have some stupid torque on naws.
