I've been keeping an eye out for a used longblock and I ran across this listing. I don't think engines respond well to being upside down, sliding...

Looking for a used SLB under $1000.00 in NC. That poor car. Reminds me of a line in the Two Towers: "May these horses bear you to better fortune than their former masters."

That car was fooked up. I bought a longblock locally about a year ago for 300.00 the guy claimed it had 70000 miles. It was a caprice motor and ran strong. 12.90 with a 1.93 60' @ 107.5. Just basic bolt-on's with a 6speed and 3.42 gear. The deals are out there but, most of the time they aren't listed. See what you can find by word of mouth, someone may have something sitting around.

Hey:

At least the door speakers look to still be good, just shows you really need a cage on a Vert.

I can get my hands on a "well maintained" Impala engine for $600, approx. 160,000 miles. Not too big a fan of the iron head option though, unless the miles are at or under 100k miles. The cooked motor I have will need a complete rebuild and I don't want to spend 14-1600 to get a stock rebuild. $1395.00 is better spent on 180cc AI heads.

I have 2 pairs of heads; 10207643 and 10208374. Itching like hell to do 'em up, but need to get the red car rolling first.

I wouldn't buy the motor without proof that the driver of that thing lived no parts from a fatal accident will ever make it near my car

transmission has probably been shoved into the rear of the block pretty hard.. crank is possibly toast.. $1500 is way to much.. maybe, and i do mean maybe a third of that..

if i was interested in it i would offer them scrap iron price for it and no more..

Somebody died in that car... And I bet you can get a Caprice motor for cheaper than an F-Body motor. Just put your heads on the Caprice motor...

theres just a few dents in it. nothing that couldn't be worked out . PS. thats to much for a use/thrown around engine.
