Default whats this wire? + funny idle

I have no clue if these 2 are related, im assuming not lol.

Anyways heres the wire/connector...

Also at idle the engine runs kinda rough, seems almost like its missfireing. and the volt gauge flutters quite a bit. Can this be only battery or alternator related? Was wondering if the optispark could play a role in this or not?

That is the fuel pump prime connector. It's only for diagnostic purposes. Adding 12v to the connector runs the fuel pump.

I've never had to use that. I usually just key the ignition.

When you key the ignition, the pump only runs for a few seconds then shuts off. This is useful if you wanted to continuously run the pump for any diagnostic purposes, or to even drain the tank.
