Default Q about oil pan and dip stick

If I'm upgrading to a truck pan (01silverado i think) holds one extra quart. Will I need to get a diff dip stick or will my stock one work?? Sorry for the dumb q.

Stock one works.
You only need to know the level of fluid and thats not going to change with a deeper pan.

Can anybody confirm if this pan will work on a F-body?

Does it come with a drain plug?

The pan will work just fine. As for the drain plug the new pans do not have them any longer. I think GM stopped doing this about 6 years ago. Vince

for a deeper pan, will you need to put an extension piece on the filter so it sits at the bottom of the pan?
