Default Motor Help - Already Have Heads and Cam ?

Initially I'd planned to use the 110k mile LS1, I've changed my mind at 116k. Which displacement would work best with the parts I already have? Street Strip / Weekend Car, n2O in the future.

I know this is back wards... in hind sight I would have just bought a complete motor, but it was fun buying the parts.

All Brand new or Fresh from Machining: TEA Stage 2 Heads, TSP 228R Cam, FAST92, NW 92, Kooks 1-7/8" & ORY.

Motor Choices are all forged: 347 LS1, 364 LS2, 383 LS1, 370 LQ9 and 402 LQ9.

Installed: Circle-D Pro-I 3400 Stall, PST 3-1/2 DS, Moser 9" with 3.75's

I'm leaning towards the 364 LS2 or 370 LQ4 or 383 LS... or just a forged 347.

Should I be afraid to go with a 402 and not have a big enough cam?

I made some phone calls today, and I'm being pointed towards a 402/408 combo, swap the cam latter if it's too small? I searched and can only find a few guys running small cams in 400+ cube engines, but no dyno numbers on them.

I certainly wouldn't let the cam you already have make your decision for you.

A tsunami cam in a 408 i think it will have good street manners and will be ok if you running stock heads but if you have aftermarket heads or cnc ported heads I will go with a larger cam 24*/24*

I put a TSP 402/408 on order, my purchase of parts was intended for a stock LS1, with the idea that I would upgrade to a larger engine in the future, the plan changed when I realized I couldn't replace the heads for less than $2400 and a $4200 engine was cheaper now than latter.

LQ9 404 cu in, Callies CompStar Crankshaft, 24X Reluctor, Callies Compstar Connecting Rod Set, Wiseco Forged Piston Set: 4.010" Bore, 4.000" Stroke, 6.125" Rod Length, -10cc Dish - Edited from the Invoice

should be a good set up with what I already have for it

Total Engine Airflow LS2/6 Stage 2 Heads 61cc chamber, 225 runners, ARP head bolts, LS2 Time Set, LS6 ported oil pump, LS7 lifters, MLS Gaskets, FAST 92 / NW 92, 42lb Injectors, Kooks 1-7/8 headers and Kooks ORY and few other things need to get bolted on too.

Cam Limited by Converter - Torquer 2 232/234, .595"/.598", Heads should make up for short duration, can be advanced a little... they produce nice numbers in 6.0's with bolt ons, I guess I'll see what it does.
