ok this was not on the street but we all thought it was funny. friday night at the track it was time trial time so you can run against any class. i was in the lanes when a 01 or so gt pulls up beside me with a full set of drag rims with slicks and a cam so big it would hardly idle. i was like oh shit im about to get beat by a mustang for the first time. well after catching a .004 light :burn: to his .258  i figued i had a prayer but i almost craped on myself when i crossed the 1/4 mile with him 7 cars back. and he didnt miss a gear it was a auto. now usually i respect a camed mustang but that was hilarious to us.
i wanted to tell him he got raped by a stock ls1 m6 on street tires but i was nice. :D

:jest: I've experienced this same situation several times with old school "muscle" cars. Big lopey cam, big slicks, skinnies...all to run a 12.8.

ahhh, i race for fun. I'll line 'em up with anyone...win or lose. It doesn't matter to me really...unless the person I'm racing is running his mouth.

The old school guys usually scorn the new cars like ours - at least where I race at. They are all filth bags with shitty cars that don't even run that great. They never talk to me, or even look at me. It's odd, like they have something against new fuel injected cars. I love lining up next to them with their slicks and raked stance. They run mid 12's, which is quicker than me, but at only 104 or so :)

I get the same thing from a lot of the "old car" guys around here. Personally, I love the sound (and look) of some of the older cars ... but lets face it, alot of them are a TON slower than they sound. I've found most of the guys to be mullet wearing rednecks (haha!!!) whose car knowledge is completely limited to taking a carb off and putting on a bigger one .... talk to them about reprogramming a PCM or fuel injector sizes and they will look at you like you don't have a mullet ...

I'm 18, a senior in highschool without a mullet and completely ASE certified! when me and my buddies are out and see a mullet we circle around him so he cant move and clap and tell him what a nice mullet he has and it's a rule that someone has to throw "business in the front, party in the back" into the conversation and make sense first to do this gets $5 from everyone there. lol. I've beaten every SS and Ws.6 I've come across so either I met all bad drivers or I'm an exception or maybe they were stock....

they were stock man, cause nothing (besides a bullit stang) can beat a modded LS1, dont you know that you dummy. and trust me, there are no better mullets than here in the great state of rednecks, i mean Texas. well shit even look at my AIM name. hit me up sometime. I need to take a trip up to arlington to see some people anyways

Mullitts, AGH!!! Rhyme with Bullitts... I love the look and sound of muscle cars, but our new ones are the fastest ones ever made, MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I just wish ours sounded more like the old ones, oh well...

Hillarious!

Ironically, I had the same thing happen to me one time. My first time at the strip, no mods; this guy comes in w/ a Ford F250 pulling an open trailor w/ a blue mustang with white stripes and DR's. Well later that night we end up getting staged together.....I'm like "Oh shit, I don't wanna lose to this mustang!"

I was sleeping at the light and he cut a perfect one (I'm thinkin damn it! I'm gonna lose). I take off spinning, blowing the tires off in every gear and having to let out quite a bit in second as my rear was sliding out towards the wall. I banged third and went by him so fast I think those stripes flew off. I hit fourth just before the 1320 and had about 5 cars on him.

Me, spinning badly and letting out.....aka shitty ass run. 13.7et
Mustang, perfect light, great launch.....aka slowest trailor car I've ever seen. 15.5et
