Default Options for a spun rod bearing on 98 v6 'maro

Spun a rod bearing back in May, finally have the time/money to get it fixed. My options are A. rebuild bottom end or B. new engine (~450-500 from LKQ)

Which would be cheaper/smarter?

Also, if i were to have a shop do it, how much would they charge for labor for each option? I don't really trust myself to rebuild the bottom, lot of things need to be torqued and aligned just right, no?

All joking aside if your pretty good with a wrench than it makes since to rebuild. If not than a used motor can be had pretty cheap.

i considered v8 swap for a long time. but it'd still be cheaper to swap in a new motor, then sell it, then buy a v8. by a lot. v8 would require lots of different parts if i'm not mistaken. lq9, t56, rear end, k-member, radiator, ac, etc.

a proper rebuild would require a new set of bearings, at least 1 new rod, and new rod caps right? then having the cylinder wall rehoned or something? that would cost close to what a used motor sells for, lkq has 55000mile series3 v6's for ~500. also, i feel like an engine swap would be easier than a rebuild... it's just a matter of unbolting the kmember, lifting the front, and rolling the old engine out, right?
