HOUSTON – A late-night shooting in southwest Houston left a man in the hospital Friday.
The shooting happened around 9:00 p.m. near the intersection of Bellaire and S. Highway 6.
Authorities said two brother-in-laws were driving to meet a group of men to purchase something. When they arrived to the meeting place, five men jumped out a vehicle and ran after the two. One of the brother-in-laws got out of the vehicle and fled on foot while the other stayed behind the driver’s wheel.
Deputies said one of the suspects then jumped inside the victims’ vehicle and shot the driver at least two times. The victim managed to drive to a nearby Walgreens, where he collapsed.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remained in stable condition. His brother-in-law was not hurt and was being questioned by authorities.
