Default 79 T/A to LS1/A4

Ok, so ive been reading and researching alot on here.....figured I might as well post mine....

heres how it started, standard 79 T/A with a 403

was going to build a bad stroked out pontiac 400 motor, but my 01 T/A influenced this build and the countless breakdowns other guys have too...not to mention I got a great deal on a LS1 locally...

but first was the body work, was a hardtop car, and I wanted T-top, so swapped that first....
from this...

to this

i wanted the better sound system too, so i swaped out the cowl panels for the more speakers.....

then paint...

then trying to get everything straightened out...and fitted in...

which is where im at now, actually, the motor plates i had were crap, so I ordered new ones, and tomorrow ill be setting it in for good hopefully, then here in the next week or so ill order the harness/ecu/headers so I can hopefully hear this thing run..... Ill keep this thing updated as I go.....

Perfect blend of muscle and modern tech IMO, I always loved that body style.

I will, vintage air kit.... that bigass bulky factory stuff is gone....

as for the shaker, another member made a custom airbox like the year one t/a that mounts to the fuel rails, Im doing the same thing..... so its actually the intake, and fully functional....

ok, headers came in two days ago, got them in yesterday, also the decals for the car came in putting them on in the am... got all the steering stuff installed too, ordered fuel pump, wiring harness, fans, computer, almost everything to have this thing running! hopefully in the next month or so, gotta get the fuel lines, which does anybody have any good setups for a 2nd gen? im running a tanksinc.com pump, will go with the vette filter/reg combo, would the factory fuel rails be sufficient for this motor, nothings been done to it, all stock... ill have pics by the end of the day!

LOOKS AWESOME!

and then the headers and all the steering components came in the other day and got those on too....
edelbrock ls swap headers fit perfect had to remove the passenger side lower control arm brace piece but i got a new one fabbed up and in place, but clearance is good all around!

Just waiting on the wiring harness, and computer before I can start it up....hopefully in the next two weeks...

I see where you put it now, are you cutting the trunk so you can get the fittings and fuel lines to fit, or using a hammer and knocking the trunk pan up?

not sure hoping there is enough room for it to just fit, which im thinking there is....making some quick disconnect lines for it so wont really have to adjust much after that....hopefully
