Custom steering linkage? Who's done it?
So its almost time to tackle my steering linkage. I have my motor mounted, and will have the headers and rest of the exhaust piping done shortly as well, so i want to get ideas for what people have used to extend their steering on custom set ups.
Im using a camaro steering column, and corvette c4 rack, I have one link off the bottom of the column, and a link off the rack. Do you guys use regular piping in better linkages? For extra links how do you support the piping? I was thinking of welding in a bearing around the piping and a brace to the frame.
Thanks for any advice.

I've used Borgeson universals with good results. http://www.borgeson.com/xcart/home.php?cat=2
The splined shaft joints are easier to work with than the double D, in my opinion, although your column is probably a DD. You can go to the hardware store and buy some wooden dowl rod to mock everything up, then get the shafts in the correct length. Borgeson also has supports for using more than 2 joints in a system.
