Default Installed LTs...now fans wont come on

Just installed LPPs on a friends car. Deleted smog and egr. Got it fired up open headers, havent put the o2 sensors on yet. The car is a 97 WS6, the cooling fans will not come on at all. The car reaches 235 and they still dont come on, they also will not come on if I turn the AC on. I also used a jumper between pins 5 and 6 on the thing under the dash like it says on Shoebox... still do not come on. So apparently the PCM is not turning them on for anything. Ive switched relays, checked all the fuses, and they are plugged in fine. Were never unplugged to begin with.

Any ideas as to why they wont come on?? Ive read something about them being wired with the o2s or the AIR but never any info just a mention of it??

Did you see this link on shoebox's site?

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#cooling

Any chance you broke the coolant temp sensor on the water pump?

Yes I read that link, that sensor was never touched but I did check it and its fine and plugged in good. But whether that was bad or not I believe the fans should come on with the AC or jumping those pins, correct?

The info on my site suggests using a scanner to see if the computer is commanding the fans on. Did you do this? Have you tried jumping any relays to see if the fans come on? Are you sure you did not touch any of the fan wiring from the computer to the fans?

Unfortunately I dont have access to a scanner. I jumped the pins on the DLC then turned the key on, no fans. No fans with AC. I have double checked all the wiring and havent found anything wrong. Ill figure out how to jump the relays and try that

thanks

The temp sensor in the head has nothing to do with the cooling fans.

Well without touching anything else I installed the Ypipe and o2 sensors. Started it up turned AC on and the fans came on. Bled the cooling system and all is well. Weird

lol when in doubt, finish the install. the o2's are on the engine sensors circuit in 97. could have something to do with grounding the o2's but I can't really see why unless there is a ground removed from the engine.
