went in for a stall...got a call suggesting a rebuild haha
I was all excited about getting my car later today with a nice vigilante converter in it!
then this morning I got a call.... the guy doing the work said the tranny fluid was burnt and brown and there is material in the pan, either from the band or clutches. he also said it almost looks like he can see material missing from a band. He suggests holding off on the converter so I dont waste it too and have to send it out to be cleaned if the trans decides to crap out.
He is the "go to" guy around here and I definitely trust his opinion.
the trans still seems to work fine never had a problem, should I go ahead and rebuild it and upgrade?

thanks for the advice, Im going to check it out myself pretty soon here.
ive never had a bad thing too say about him and have never heard one bad thing either. he REALLY helps me out a lot and has saved me lots of money. probably enough to cover the price of a new trans lol

With that many miles I would go ahead and get another one. Or buy on from a sponser on here. I have known to many people when the their trans goes it takes the converter out.. like the color of your car.

I think it a good thing you got it built. That way you have a clean slate along with some kind of warranty..
Also, you will like how the car is going to drive.. I love the way mine shifts..
Mine ran about 2,200...

I hear this a lot, that he is the "go to guy" on transmissions. He might be able to build TH350's, TH400's, and Powerglides, but that does not mean he can build a competent 4L60E. Do you have a list of what he is going to do on your transmission? Better to be safe than sorry here on this.
