Can the stock LT1 flywheel be zero balanced and can I use aftermarket pp/disc?

Default Can the stock LT1 flywheel be zero balanced and can I use aftermarket pp/disc?

Looking to save some coin after the engine rebuild and was wondering if possible to use the stock flywheel after the engine gets balanced. I noticed the counterweight on the back of the stock flywheel and wanted to know if it could be shaved off.

Also, I'm going to be spinning the engine close to 7k so is there a disc/pressure plate I can use with the stock flywheel? Thanx

Well before the whole project began I had it resurfaced thinking I was going to just throw a set of ported heads on the stock block. Then it all snowballed and well, I have a resurfaced stock flywheel that cant go on to a balanced rotating assembly.

I had mine "neutral" balanced for $40.

If you are going to spin to 7k with big RPM clutch dumps I would get a steel FW...
