Question Should I buy it?

So,i just moved to AZ, and found a Z28 of interest. Its a 95, A4, 2.73, leather, ttop car. Its white with the black roof bar. I haven't seen it in person yet but have seen a lot of nice pictures of it. The guy says the only thing wrong with it is that there is no oil getting to the top end. He said it has good, steady oil pressure, but the lifters clatter. My best guess is it probably needs a new set of lifters. I'm going to look at it saturday. He says it runs just fine but he was scared to drive it because the noise was annoying. Either way, its only $1,500 and I figured id offer him 1k just because I'm driving 3 hours to see it. What do you guys think? Worth the money? I just sold my 00 SS car and swore I'd never go back to an LT1, but I'm just drawn to them for some reason. There is just something about them. So, if its a simple fix, is it worth the money?

Pretty good deal, even after you put a new valve train still be worth it.

Theres more money in parts in that car than 1K

I would love to swap motors, or find a donnor car but I just don't have the time or want to do that kind of work anymore. I don't mind fixing one up, but I don't want to have to drop an engine in my apartment complex parking lot.

Good find. If I didn't have projects already, I'd want to go get that one.

Thanks man..I kept the lights from my '95 and installed them, I hate the amber crap. Those are TT2's, 11's in the back.

That's what I'm thinking but for as cheap as it is its hard to pass up. I went and looked at a mustang gt here at a local dealer. It was an 02 model. Silver, black top (convertible), two tone, light grey dark grey interior. 5 speed, 17k miles, and they were asking $13k. I'm not to familiar with how much stangs are worth but it sure was pretty. I've been doing research on 4.6 motors and all the stang sites have the same complaint...a full bolt on gt can't hang with a tuned ls1. I just don't know what to do but I know merv will end up calling me and talking some since into me.

You can always buy it to fix it and then just sell it and make some dough. but if you're looking at 13k mustangs why not just go with an ls1. with an auto car you're always gonna wish it was stick and with a 5spd you're always wish there was a 6th gear lol

I'll cut your nuts off myself if you get a stang, unless it's a Terminator.

I was looking at the stang because of the low miles, and the fact it was a one owner, unabused car. That and I could finance it. Finding an completely stock, well taken care of ls1 AT A REASONABLE PRICE. (aka, what it's worth) it almost not even worth looking for. I had a 00 SS a4, stalled bolt on, cammed car I sold for 6k because my wife and I had to move from arkansas to arizona and just couldn't afford to bring it. Now I'm wishing I would have just left it in a storage unit and the keys with merv to fire her too every so often until I get home next summer. Oh well. I guess I would be better off just waiting. I could probably flip my money on it but I guess its probably not worth it.
