Default What is a ls1 with a t56 worth?

What do you guys think a ls1 with a t56 6 speed would be worth with a 120k on it? I am a little puzzled with the miles being that high. It is complete with all the acc's and wiring, etc.

Personally i haven't seen anything that low. Best i've seen is 3k+ even with high mileage.

I have a 5.3 with 50k and a 4l60e, but that 6 speed would make it a totally different build.

I got mine for $2k, but then again I got really, really lucky. That included headers, ypipe, harness, brake booster, master cylinder, radiator, cooling fans, pedal assembly, tan leather seats(front and back), along with the crossmember from wheel to wheel.

So, it depends on hwere you are from, the prices differ from location, not to mention, i said 2500 up for a motor and trans, no PCM, wiring harness ect.

Year, mileage, parts included etc would be a factor

A drop out with everything would be well worth $2500
A stripped long block with a trans hanging off the back would not

It is hurricane season again, I picked up my ls1/t56 with wiring and acc, and ecu for 3k, 17,000 miles on motor 2002 camaro, got it just after katrina hit new orleans, It is a gamble but the motor I got was super clean inside and out, ecu works fine. I don't think you'll find a low lileage ls1 with everything you need for 3k any other way, but I would have paid 3k for a high mileage ls1 with everything i need as well. If you do buy the high mileage ls1 I stroked my moter so if you are interested I still have the entire rotating assy (crank, rods-pistons,) I 'll throw in the balancer and flywheel, I used afr heads so I also have the 241 heads and cam, i'll sell it cheap,

I thought so too.The story goes...............in March I was going to meet my girl friends parents and friends about 3 hours away.
At her friends house out in the country I see the car by her barn.I ask her about it and she told me her brother wrecked it about a year ago.
I ask what he wanted for it.She said she was tired of looking at it and would be glad for me to get it out of her field.I ask about mileage and auto or manual. She said it was an auto and had about 150k on it.At that time I didn,t even go look at it,since it had been there a year I thought he was probably asking more than it was worth.
A couple of days later my girl friend tells me he wants 2k for that old car.I told her I am not willing to pay that much, since I would have to haul it 150 miles just to get it and not knowing if the trans and engine are any good.
Well.........................last month the girl friend and me are traveling back to see her folks and friends again.About half way there she tells me, her brother(friends brother) said he would take a 1000$ for that old car.I told her to call her friend I wanted to take a look at it.
Opened the door and it,s a six speed.I said I will take it.
He fell asleep driving and nosed it off the road. The air bags did not deploy. But it did break the hood and front fenders and pushed the rad support up.I got it home and it did start up.Something is grinding, like a pulley rubbing something. The clutch is out of fluid so I can,t test the trans.Plans are next weekend to dig into it and see what I have.I want the engine for my 56 ford car. my dads friend took his motor out and gave it away for 1000..t56,wirin, etc... youll prolly never find that again. but 2500 seems like a reasonable price...you could be like everyone else and sell it for 4000!!

I got lucky on mine also. Just was in the right places at the right time. 2k for the motor and trans. No wiring, intake, or exhaust.. Was also a GMPP crate motor at that..

I will say this. If your patient and keep up on the forsale section you can run across some good deals.

Tails
