So im pulling apart the car for a forged 383 since I spun a bearing, and after pulling the heads off I noticed the #8 piston looked noticeably worse compared to the others. After taking the spark plugs out of the heads I noticed one just isn't right and found out the owner before me who I bought the car from replaced 1-7 with NGK TR-5's and never replaced 8 so it was running on a stock AC delco for 110k miles Let me just say pictures do NOT do it enough justice. The plug is completely pointed on the tip and just bad in every way possible.

Nah, that's not the worst I've ever seen. Try having a nitrous backfire...then you will truly know what a bad plug looks like

No pics of it, but I changed the stock AC Delco plug out of #8 with about 80,000 miles on the car. If it had an electrode left, I couldn't see it.

wow that nitrous one is horrible haha, makes me feel at least a little better about running that plug for a few months

Nah. It's not the worst unless the electrodes are missing. S2000 I did years ago ate two of them. Shortblock was fine, minor scuffing on the valves and no pieces to be found. Bizarre, what the F are the odds of something like that finding it's way out the exhaust valve without damage LOL. Twice!

The precious metal (iridium/platinum) have VERY small electrodes - and are made to go to 100,000k, theoretically, for emissions reasons I guess. They still like to be swapped out before for optimum performance.

i'm looking for a picture of one of mine, but it was when i installed lt's. when i put the driver's side in, i ended up hitting the back one and it split all the way down one side on the ceramic part. took me about a week to figure out why it was idling so rough.

^^what they said man, thats the original iridium/ platinum plug (i forget which they came with) but ya its supposed to be narrow and pointed like that for a better spark the new plugs you got are just regular copper plugs they are still good but in theory getting the original iridiums are better
