Default Cam question

This is my current DD set up...Edelbrock Performer heads, 1.6 RR's, 58mm BBK, complete exhaust, Comp Cams "304" Camshaft, 210 / 220, .500 / .510 114 LSA

I was looking into a cam similar to the "306" (230 / 244, .510 / .540 112 LSA) Should I consider something else?

What I am asking is, should I replace the cam to something bigger to work with my new stall (Yank SS4000)? And what else should I look into?

and what gears should I run out back?

more cam will definatly help.....that cam is a bit weak for that setup......the cc306 is a decent cam personally i like AI's version of the gm847.....234/242....would probably work good with that converter and a set of 4.10 gears out back. I ran that AI cam with TFS heads and 4.11's and had really good results 11.4's at 120-121

The cam you have is more suited for boost. Mine is almost like that (219/230 .565/.565 114 LSA). A bigger cam will definitely give it much more potential.

I wouldn't personally want to DD a car with a cc306 or with a 4000 stall either lol but more power to you. Ai claims their 226/234 cam makes more power and exhibits much better drivability than the cc306, I would personally run that cam or something similar long before I would a cc306.

I'm leaning towards the 230/238, ive messaged ai waiting for reply. Id like to see what that cam does in a M6 stock internal LT1 with 10.5:1 compression.

I like the AI 226/234. A car on here just made 375rwhp with it pretty much cam only, the head hads very minimal work done. Although that was with a 6 speed the car has 11 sec potential and that cam is easily streetable. With that 4000 stall and some sticky tires I think an 11 sec. DD would be possible. Here is the link to his thread.

How tall are your rear tires? if you are on a budget a used GM 847 will perform well with that stall. But the other cams mentioned will work great as well
