Default 5.3 into a toyota

hello everyone, im new on here but have been building cars since i was 15, im new to the ls style motors but have basic ideas on how they work, my question is i have a 5.3 out of an 07 silverado 4x4 and im swaping it into a 85 toyota pick up, the toyota already has a 350sb chevy in it that i swaped in when i was 16, i am wondering where i can get the harness for the motor since the motor i got was taken out and someone else bought the factory harness, im gona run a th350 trans so all i need is a motor harness and im gona run a cable throttle body of a older 5.3, i also need a pcm , any help would be great

Or you can go carbed for cheap and make more power without getting the high dollar EFI intake.

that might have a 54x reluctor being from 07 i dont know if you can use a cable tb it thats the case, because all the ecm's for the 58x would have had dbw, so you would have to convert the harness over. the carb may be your best option, but again do they have one for the 58x

that motor swap looks badass, so what would be involved in converting the harness to cable throttle body, i know that i need a spedo converter so there is an electronic vss but i can get that from dakota digital, and i also know that i need the spacer for the torque converter, does anyone know the gm part number for that spacer?

first before you worry about converting the harness look at the crank position sensor and see if its grey or black, if its black its 24x and you are good to go just get a harness for a 99-02 truck

Should not have a problem. I have a 90 extracab with ls3/t56 with p/s and a/c. These trucks have about the same underhood room.

You will have to modify the hood for that.

its the one right by the starter and its 2 wire so you are good to go get a harness form a 99-02 truck or one from a camaro and get it going lol

i got the motor up on the stand 2day and started to pull it apart to replace the 2 bad lifters and change the cam, im still undecided on what cam, i want some street manners but the truck will run in the mud sometimes, y would i have to modify the hood, my small block fit with about 2 inches between the hood and air cleaner, i have 8" suspension lift plus 3 body so i should have tons of clearance

Did not know you had a 3 inch body lift.
