Which Exhaust Manifolds Fit Best on First Gen Camaro or Firebird
After reading all the posts I could find on this topic I still don't feel comfortable with the answer. I am putting an LQ4 in a 1968 Firebird and would like to keep my power steering and I am using truck accessory brackets. 2 questions: 1) Will the LQ4 truck manifolds work at all? 2) Which factory manifolds fit best with this car. Thanks so much.

For the record, I have verified that the LQ4 manifolds will not work with the factory power steering box in a first gen Camaro or Firebird. I do not think it would be practical to modify them to work.
Vague articles in publications like Car Craft and Hot Rod claim that stock LS1 Camaro/Firebird manifolds will work in first gen cars. I have read this several times but have never been able to verify it on this board. Does anyone have experience with this?

From what I have read the manifolds off of a C6 work (they are on ebay for less then 100 bucks).
There are a few nova builds 68-74 (same front sub-frame as the 1st Gen Camaro) that have used these manifolds.
I am actually looking to buy a set soon to start my 76MM turbo build.

manifolds
I have 67 camaro with factory power stearing, 02 camaro ls1 with factory manifolds. fit very well, had to shave down driver side manifold o2 sensor bung and plug hole, no room for sensor, it will hit stearing box. put o2 sensor in pipe below manifold. not a big deal. pass side no mods
