Default tsp 233/239 cam opinions

About to purchase a cam for my car and wanted some opinions from experience with this cam. Car is an auto with 3200 stall converter, 3.73 gears with auburn posi, full exhaust, built 4l65e tranny. 315 nittos out back! Tubular lca's and panhard bar with subframe connectors! I know some of this info is irrelevant but just painting a picture of what this cam will be matched with. Car has gone 7.97 in the eighth with a 1.67 sixty foot! Car is not a daily driver and I want a little lope with the cam. Wanna shift about 6600 rpm. What's your opinion of this cam or a similar cam that matches the car?

I think the cam will do good with your setup, 3200 stall and 3 73s

I've got that cam in my car ... I like it. It pulls like crazy at about 3200-3500rpm. Heres a cold start / idle clip. Cam is 112LSA.

I'd be interested to know what your car will run after you get this cam in it. Looks like your car runs pretty good already for your current setup. May want to go a bit bigger on the converter for that cam IMO.

Yea, I understand that this cam is about max for my stall but I want a healthy cam with good low end and mid range! From what I've looked at on a 113 lsa this cam should be a pretty good match to my set up!

I just put this cam with 114 lsa in my buddies car.......Absolutely sick! Scares the hell out of me when he punches it and im not ready. That 114 lsa would help that midrange and probably be better for your stall. His is a 6 speed car. But you will definitely be happy with it has a great chop to it but very street driveable with alot of power. His kicks sideways halfway through first, kicks the other way when he grabs second and practically picks up the left front tire when he hits third all with the stock gear. Good luck!

Thanks Whiteaw57, I think I will go with a 114 lsa then. I've been trying to decide between that and the 113 but I still wanted to hear that cam lope. Good to know it still sounds good on a 114, I'm sure that will work better with my stall as well!

I would go with the MS3 cam I had one in my old set up screams mid range and top end and is good for a dd driver. Cam is also a good nitrous cam. I just installed one in my buddies vette it sound sick with full exhaust and LT headers. We put it in a stock ls1 the pcv clearance is fine we even double checked with texas speed.

If you want better low and, and are on a 3200 stall, wouldn't you want a lower LSA and not something as tight as a 114lsa?
If I'm not completely ******* retarded, I was sure that a lower LSA will give more chop (idles set to same RPM) and have better lower end while forfeiting a small amount of top end. Where as a tighter LSA would yield more high end power at the loss of some low end. Hence why a tight LSA is better in many turbo and nitrous applications (not bringing up split duration). Not to mention, with it being that tight you will want a bigger stall to flash you to the better part of your powerband.

i have this cam, and i Love it. Lots of top end power!
it has a great chop to it (i get compliments all the time)

n/a cars usually do better with a smaller lsa. i went with the 112 lsa

my car made 390hp on a mustang dyno. it is m6 with LT's, ORY, cam, UD pulley, slp lid, and some other small bolt-ons/parts
set my rpm redline to 6800. it made power all the way to 6600
i still run the stock 3.42 gears and it is very streetable. my tuner also did a good job with it
